Along the Water’s Edge is an ongoing documentary photography project exploring life along Britain’s canal network. The series captures the people who live and work on the waterways, revealing the quiet beauty, resilience and complexity of a community often romanticised but rarely understood.

Through portraits and scenes of daily life, the project shows both the challenges and freedoms of living afloat — the resourcefulness it demands, the sense of belonging it fosters, and the deep connection to nature that comes from moving at the pace of the water.

At its heart, Along the Water’s Edge is a study of modern nomadism, community and what it means to find home in motion.
